Free Food Shelves in Minneapolis

If you or someone you know is struggling to put food on the table in Minneapolis right now, you are not alone — and you don’t have to go hungry. More than 60,000 Minneapolis residents — about 14% of the city’s population — rely on SNAP benefits to buy food each month, and community organizations across the city are stepping up to fill the gaps. Whether you need a hot meal tonight, a bag of groceries for the week, or ongoing food shelf support, here is a guide to free food resources in Minneapolis that are open right now.

Food shelves provide bags or boxes of groceries — including fresh produce, dairy, protein, and pantry staples — that you can take home. Many require little or no paperwork, and most welcome walk-ins.
